Title: Prior Labeling Approval System: Generic Label Approval 
Abstract: This rulemaking will continue an effort initiated several years ago by amending FSIS' regulations to expand the types of labeling that are genetically approved. FSIS proposed that the submission of labeling for approval prior to use be limited to certain types of labeling, as specified in the regulations. In addition, FSIS proposed to combine the regulations that provide for the approval of labels for meat products and poultry products into a new Code of Federal Regulations Part.
