Title: Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program: Revision of Race and Ethnicity Data Collection Methods 
Abstract:

Revised regulations at 7 CFR 272.6(g) to eliminate the option for State agencies to use visual observation to collect race and ethnicity data from program applicants who do not voluntarily provide it. This rule is intended to align SNAP regulations with current Federal policy. On December 14, 2024, FNS published the final rule in the Federal Register. Communities affected by this rule are all low-income individuals eligible for SNAP.
