Title: ●Simplified Geographic Preference Procurement in Child Nutrition Programs
Abstract:

This regulatory action would amend 7 CFR parts 210, 215, 220, 225, and 226 to align with updates to OMB Uniform Guidance at 2 CFR part 200.319 removing the prohibition on geographic preference in the evaluation or selection of bids for any goods and services, except where explicitly allowed or mandated by Federal statute.  The action removes language that restricts the use of geographic preference to the procurement of unprocessed agricultural products when procuring for the  National School Lunch Program, School Milk Program, School Breakfast Program, Summer Food Service Program, and the Child and Adult Care Food Program meals, allowing it to be applied to the purchase of any good or service.
