Title: Amendment of definition of "eligible food" in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) 
Abstract:

The Food and Nutrition Service is proposing to amend the definition of "eligible foods" in SNAP to align with the program’s purpose of assisting low-income households in obtaining a more nutritious diet and advance USDA’s goal to "Make America Healthy Again.”

Statement of Need:

To ensure the SNAP program effectively serves its intended population of low-income households by providing a nutritious diet, the Food and Nutrition Service is proposing to amend the definition of "eligible foods." This change aligns the program with its purpose of promoting better nutrition and supports USDA's goal to "Make America Healthy Again."
