| Title: ●Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program and Summer Electronic Benefits Transfer Program: Increasing Flexibility for Retailers After the Discontinuation of One-Cent Coins | |
|
Abstract:
The administration is preparing to cease production of the one-cent coin. FNS is amending its regulations for participation of retail food stores in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and the Summer Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) Program. This is to ensure that following this change FNS regulations do not unnecessarily burden authorized retailers, in light of the expectation that retail stores redeeming benefits for eligible foods treat participants under the same terms and conditions as cash customers. |
