| Title: Minerals Cost Recovery | |
|
Abstract:
This rule amendment would revise the Forest Service's minerals regulations at 36 CFR 228, Subpart F, to allow the agency to charge processing and monitoring fees for certain mineral activities on National Forest System Lands, including actions such as conducting environmental analysis and monitoring authorized activities, consistent with federal cost recovery statutes. Cost recovery funds made available through this revision would support agency efforts to increase the agency’s minerals program efficiency and capacity to process mineral requests in accordance with Executive Order 14154, Unleashing American Energy. |
