Title: Revisions to Permit Regulations for Federal Fisheries Permits and Federal Processor Permits in Alaska
Abstract: The rule revises regulations and permit procedures for retention of an original Federal Fisheries Permit onboard, and return of an original permit prior to surrender of a permit. The action allows fishing operations to meet Federal Fisheries Permit requirements by carrying a valid, legible copy, rather than the original, of the Federal Fisheries Permit, and by relieving operators of the need to submit an original if they surrender the Federal Fisheries Permit. The action has positive net benefits, principally by reducing the administrative burden of permitting on industry.
