| Title: Rulemaking To Designate Critical Habitat for the Endangered Black Abalone | |
| Abstract: Under section 4 of the Endangered Species Act (ESA), the Secretary of Commerce (Secretary) shall designate critical habitat for species listed as threatened or endangered. This rulemaking would designate critical habitat for the endangered black abalone. Once critical habitat is designated, Federal agencies would be required to comply with section 7 of the ESA to ensure activities they carry out, authorize, or fund do not destroy or adversely affect this designated critical habitat. An economic analysis report, biological report, and ESA section 4(b)(2) analysis report prepared in support of this rulemaking would be available for public review and comment. | |
