| Title: ●Fisheries of the Caribbean, Gulf of Mexico, and South Atlantic; Gulf of Mexico Reef Fish Fishery; 2010 Accountability Measures for Greater Amberjack | |
| Abstract: In accordance with the regulations regarding annual catch limits and accountability measures for greater amberjack in the Gulf of Mexico, the temporary rule would adjust recreational and commercial quotas for the 2010 season. In addition, the temporary rule would establish a closure date for the recreational fishery based on projections of when the adjusted recreational quota will be met. The commercial fishery is monitored by NOAA Fisheries on a bi-weekly basis and will be closed once the quota has been met. The intended effect of the temporary rule is to maintain the rebuilding plan targets for the overfished greater amberjack and meet the regulatory requirements established in Amendment 30A to the fishery management plan. | |
