| Title: ●Implementation of a Recreational Seasonal Closure for Greater Amberjack; Regulatory Framework Action to the Fishery Management Plan for Reef Fish Resources of the Gulf of Mexico (FMP) | |
| Abstract: To reduce the probability of early in-season closures for recreational greater amberjack in the Gulf of Mexico, the rule would close the greater amberjack recreational fishing season annually from June 1 through July 31. The intended effect of this rule is to maintain the rebuilding plan targets for the overfished greater amberjack, prevent the annual catch limit from being exceeded, and maximize the number of fishing days available to the recreational sector. | |
