| Title: ●Comprehensive Annual Catch Limit (ACL) Amendment for the U.S. Caribbean | |
| Abstract: The Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act (MRSA: Pub. L. 94-265), as amended through January 12, 2007, requires the establishment of annual catch limits (ACLs) and accountability measures (AMs) during 2011 for those species that are not considered to be overfished or undergoing overfishing. This amendment is being promulgated to meet those MSRA mandates, as well as to establish framework procedures with which to effect future changes to the management plan and to restructure the fisheries management units for various species and species groups in the reef fish, lobster, conch, and corals fishery management plans. Alternatives are included in the draft amendment that provide for maintenance of the status quo for each action as well as for various modifications as necessary to achieve MSRA mandates. | |
