This action reduces the in-season possession limit adjustment trigger for northern red hake beginning fishing year 2014 due to an annual catch limit overage in fishing year 2012. The trigger will be reduced from 90 percent to 45 percent. This is the first year in which this accountability measure will be implemented. As part of this process we noted some parts of these regulations that need to be clarified and corrected to reduce any confusion and to capture the intent of the original action. As such, this action will also make some minor corrections and clarifications to these regulations. These corrections and clarifications will not affect the fishery, possession limits, or how the accountability measures function.
