Title: ●Fisheries Off West Coast States; Notice of a Control Date for Large-Mesh Drift Gillnet Limited Entry Program 
Abstract:

The Pacific Fishery Management Council voted to establish a control date for the large-mesh drift gillnet fishery that primarily targets swordfish and thresher shark. The purpose of the control date is to discourage speculative activation of previously unused effort or capacity in the fishery while alternative management regimes to control latent effort are discussed and possibly developed and implemented.
