View Rule

This rule would remove the current regulatory restriction that prohibits U.S. purse seine vessels from conducting bunkering (i.e., fueling) operations in the U.S. exclusive economic zone and on the high seas between the latitudes of 20 N. and 20 S., in the area of application of the Convention on the Conservation and Management of Highly Migratory Fish Stocks in the Western and Central Pacific Ocean, after announcement that the fishing day limit has been reached. This action complies with conservation and management measures adopted by the Commission for the Conservation and Management of Highly Migratory Fish Stocks in the Western and Central Pacific Ocean. This action removes an unnecessary restriction on bunkering operations that are otherwise authorized under international and U.S. laws and regulations.
