Title: Fishing Restrictions for the Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission and Western and Central Pacific Fisheries Commission Area of Overlap
Abstract: The National Marine Fisheries Service issued this regulation under the Tuna Conventions Act to implement Recommendation C-12-11 of the Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission, which the United States and other member countries adopted by consensus in October 2012. The Western and Central Pacific Fisheries Commission adopted an identical Recommendation in December 2012. These recommendations require that each member country identify which Commission's conservation and management measures will govern their flag vessels while fishing in the area of overlap between the Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission and Western and Central Pacific Fisheries Commission. The area of overlap is defined as the waters bounded by 150 degrees West, 130 degrees West, 4 degrees South, and 50 degrees South.
