View Rule

This rulemaking will codify existing Federal Pacific salmon management measures and specifications for the commercial, recreational, and treaty Indian fisheries that have previously been promulgated annually by publication in the Federal Register consistent with 50 CFR 660.408. These specifications and management measures address topics including definitions, allowable ocean harvest levels, allocations, management boundaries and zones, minimum length restrictions, recreational daily bag limits, fishing gear restrictions, quotas, seasons, and selective fisheries. In addition, this rulemaking will make non-substantive adjustments to the relevant provisions regarding, necessary to integrate them into the CFR. Integrating these specifications and management measures into the CFR will not change the annual process for developing and implementing the measures or the substance of the measures, but it is expected to reduce the amount of regulatory text that is promulgated annually, focusing the annual rulemaking on text that is changed from the prior year(s). This rule is administrative and non-significant. The authority for this action is the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act section 305(d).
