View Rule

DoD is issuing a final rule to amend the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) to revise and update clauses and their prescriptions for special contracting methods, major system acquisition, and service contracting to create basic clauses with alternates. The rule adds separate prescriptions for the basic clauses as well as the alternates. The rule includes the full text of each clause and each alternate, which will assist in making solicitation and contract terms and conditions easier to read and understand, and facilitate the use of automated contract writing systems. DoD does not expect this rule to have a significant economic impact on a substantial number of small entities.
