Title: Transition Assistance Program (TAP) for Military Personnel  
Abstract:

This rule establishes policy, assigns responsibilities, and prescribes procedures for administration of the DoD Transition Assistance Program (TAP). The TAP prepares all eligible members of the military services for a transition to civilian life; enables eligible servicemembers to meet the career readiness standards as required by this rule; and is the overarching program that provides transition assistance, information, training, and services to eligible transitioning servicemembers to prepare them to be career ready when they transition back to civilian life. Spouses of eligible servicemembers are entitled to the Department of Labor workshop, job placement counseling, DoD/VA administered survivor information, financial planning assistance, transition plan assistance, VA administered home loan services and housing assistance benefits information, and responsible borrowing practices counseling. Dependents of eligible servicemembers are entitled to career change counseling and information on suicide prevention.
