Abstract:

This rule is being published to remove the section which provides the Department of Defense guidance for common access card (CAC) investigation and adjudication. The information in the removed section is now found in another rule which provides updated DoD investigative and adjudicative guidance for issuing the CAC. The CAC is the Department of Defense personal identity verification (PIV) credential. Further amendments are forthcoming, which will be added to the amendment rule.
