This rule finalizes updates to the authorities and responsibilities for the Stars and Stripes Media Organization and reaffirms its editorial independence in providing media products to veterans and their families and contractors based on changes in the consumption of news and information in a digital age. It also removes internal operational policies and procedures that do not have an external burden on the public. The updates to this rule are administrative in nature with no requirements of the public; therefore, the costs are nominal.
