| Title: Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) Child Enrollment Contingency Fund Payments (CMS-2488-P) | |
| Abstract: This proposed rule would establish the "CHIP contingency fund" to eliminate State shortfalls in funding beginning in FY 2009. A State may qualify for the contingency funds if it projects a funding shortfall for the fiscal year (not counting any redistributed amounts they may receive) and its average monthly child enrollment exceeds its target average number of enrollees for the fiscal year. Contingency payments equal a States projected per capita Federal spending multiplied by the excess amount. This proposed rule implements provisions of the Children's Health Insurance Program Reauthorization Act of 2009. | |
