Title: Wage Reports (809P)
Abstract: We propose to amend our rules on processing employers' annual wage reports by including electronic filing and removing magnetic media as a means of wage reporting. We also propose to revise our rules to provide that if 95 percent or more of an employer's electronic wage reports have no Social Security numbers (SSNs) or incorrect employee names or SSNs, the employer must correct and resubmit the reports. Our current rules contain a 90 percent threshold requirement. Finally, we propose to replace outdated references and instructions to reflect current reporting requirements. These proposed changes would update our regulations to reflect our current operating practices.
