Abstract:
This NPRM will propose to eliminate two existing pilots, as required by section 832 of the Bipartisan Budget Act of 2015: 1) The Single Decisionmaker (SDM) prototype, in which a disability examiner may make the initial disability determination in most cases without obtaining the signature of a medical or psychological consultant, and 2) the Disability Examiner Authority (DEA), in which State agency disability examiners can make fully favorable disability determinations without the approval of a medical or psychological consultant for cases identified under the Quick Disability Determination and Compassionate Allowances processes, due to expire on November 11, 2016 (80 FR 63092). |
