| Title: Disclosure of Records With the Written Consent of the Subject of Record | |
|
Abstract:
We propose to amend our rules about disclosing records with the written consent of the subject of the record to bring 20 CFR 401.100 in line with our policy, which requires written consent to be signed. We are also revising 20 CFR 401.100 to reflect electronic consent commensurate with SSA’s implementation of the Creating Advanced Streamlined Electronic Services for Constituents (CASES) Act of 2019, which requires that we allow remotely identity proofed and authenticated individuals to provide their electronic consent and authorization to us to disclose their Privacy Act protected records to a third party. |
