Title: ●Setting the Manner of Appearance for Disability Hearings
Abstract:

We propose to update our disability hearing regulations at the Disability Determination Services by establishing in person, agency video, online video, and audio to be used as standard manners of appearance. These updates would allow us to accommodate additional manners of appearance at hearings, such as online video, and would provide flexibility to adapt to changing technology. This would lead to more video and audio hearings, saving time for claimants, and improve agency efficiencies. It would open more avenues to meet the claimant where they are.
