Title: Modifications to the HIPAA Privacy Rule Required by the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act of 2008
Abstract: The Department of Health and Human Services, Office for Civil Rights, will issue final rules to implement the modifications to the HIPAA Privacy Rule required by Section 105 of the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act of 2008. These rules will prohibit plans from using or disclosing genetic information about an individual for underwriting purposes.
