Title: ●Minerals Management: Adjustment of Cost Recovery Fees
Abstract:

This rule is an annual amendment of the Bureau of Land Management's mineral resources regulations that provide for recovering a portion of the costs for processing certain documents required under various minerals programs.  Examples of fees that will be updated include fees for noncompetitive lease applications for oil and gas and geothermal developments, coal exploration license applications, and mineral patent adjudications.  The Interior Department's Office of Inspector General recommended the annual fee changes in 1988 in response to a 1980s Presidential initiative, which called for all Federal agencies to charge appropriate user fees for agency services.
