Title: ●Mining Claim Location and Maintenance Fee Update  
Abstract:

This final rule updates the BLM's maintenance and location fees to reflect changes in the Consumer Price Index to reflect the appropriate fees to be collected. This rule complies with the statutory mandate of the 30 U.S.C. 28j(c) to adjust the fees every five years.  This rule amends 43 CFR 3830.21, which is the table of fees for mining law maintenance and location fees.

Overall Description of Deadline: The primary legal authorities associated with this final rule is the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1993 (30 U.S.C. 28j(c)). Section 28j(c) requires that mining claimants be provided notice of any adjustments made and that the announcement be made not later than July 1 for changes that will go into effect in the next fiscal year.
