Title: ●Mineral Materials Disposal
Abstract:

This proposed rule would update the BLM’s mineral materials disposal processes to be consistent with current industry standards, provide clarity where existing language is unclear, and correct oversight errors in the existing regulations. The rule would also fulfill the Office of the Inspector General's recommendations to amend parts of the regulations. The current regulations at 43 CFR part 3600 were published as a final rule on November 23, 2001, at 66 FR 58892, with an effective date of December 24, 2001. There have been only minor updates to the regulations in the past 23 years. Many needed updates and improvements to the regulations have been identified by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and the Department of the Interior’s Office of the Solicitor.
