Title: Endangered and Threatened Wildlife and Plants; Reclassification of Morro Shoulderband Snail From Endangered To Threatened
Abstract: We plan to reclassify the Morro shoulderband snail from endangered to threatened. This decision is based on our 5-year review for the banded dune snail, which, at the time of listing, we considered a single species composed of the subspecies the Morro shoulderband snail and the Chorro shoulderband snail. Current knowledge of the life history and status of threats to these snails indicates that the Morro shoulderband snail meets the definition of threatened, and the Chorro shoulderband snail does not appear to warrant the protections of the Act at this time.
