Title: Endangered and Threatened Wildlife and Plants; Listing Determination for Dunes Sagebrush Lizard
Abstract: We made a determination to withdraw a proposed rule to list the dunes sagebrush lizard (Sceloporus arenicolus) as endangered under the ESA throughout its range in eastern New Mexico and western Texas. We have concluded that threats identified in the proposed rule are no longer as significant as believed at the time of the proposed rule. Note: The species' common name has recently changed, from sand dunes lizard to dunes sagebrush lizard, because the common name "sand dunes lizard" was already in use for another species. Part of a multidistrict litigation agreement.
