Title: Marine Mammals; Polar Bear Deterrence Guidelines 
Abstract: The 1994 amendments to the Marine Mammal Protection Act direct us to publish a list of guidelines for use in safely deterring marine mammals and, if so determined, to prohibit deterrence measures that have a significant adverse impact. We have developed guidelines that put forth provisions that we believe are appropriate for deterring polar bears from damaging property and endangering the public, but which will not result in a significant adverse impact on polar bears.
