| Title: Wildlife and Fisheries; Removing Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act Regulations | |
| Abstract: The Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act of 1980 (16 U.S.C. 2901-2911) encouraged Federal agencies to utilize their statutory and administrative authority to conserve and protect non-game fish and wildlife and their habitats. The Act provided funding and technical assistance to States to design conservation plans and programs to benefit nongame species. No further funding is being made available through the Act, and two other programs--Wildlife Conservation and Restoration Program (WCRP) and State Wildlife Grants (SWG)--now serve the same purpose (although only SWG receives funding). Therefore, we are removing part 83 from our regulations. | |
