| Title: Endangered and Threatened Wildlife and Plants; Listing Determination for Two Tennessee River Mussels | |
| Abstract: We will finalize our proposal to list two Tennessee river mussels--fluted kidneyshell and slabside pearlymussel (Ptychobranchus subtentum and Lexingtonia dolabelloides)--as endangered pursuant to the Endangered Species Act of 1973. These two freshwater mussels are endemic to the Tennessee and Cumberland River systems in Tennessee, Kentucky, Virginia, Alabama, and Mississippi. Once widely distributed, the fluted kidneyshell is now limited to 12 locations, and the slabside pearlymussel is found in only 10 sites. We are proposing critical habitat at 1018-AZ48. | |
