Title: Endangered and Threatened Wildlife and Plants; Listing Determination for Two Tennessee River Mussels
Abstract: FWS will publish a final rule to list two Tennessee river mussels--fluted kidneyshell and slabside pearlymussel--as endangered pursuant to the Act. These two freshwater mussels are endemic to the Tennessee and Cumberland River systems in Tennessee, Kentucky, Virginia, Alabama, and Mississippi. Once widely distributed, the fluted kidneyshell is now limited to 12 locations, and the slabside pearlymussel is found in only 10 sites. Final critical habitat will be designated under RIN 1018-AZ48.
