Title: Endangered and Threatened Wildlife and Plants; Establishment of a Nonessential Experimental Population Area for the North American Wolverine in Colorado, Wyoming, and New Mexico
Abstract: On February 4, 2013, FWS proposed to list the wolverine in the contiguous United States as threatened, and proposed an ESA section 10(j) experimental population in Colorado, Wyoming, and New Mexico. However, FWS finds that while there is significant evidence that the climate within the larger range of the wolverine is changing, affecting snow patterns and associated wolverine habitat, the specific response or sensitivity of wolverines to these forecasted changes involves considerable uncertainty at this time. Therefore, we published a withdrawal of both proposed rules on August 13, 2014. See 79 FR 47522 for more information. For information on the contiguous U.S. population, see RIN 1018-AY26.
