Title: Servicewide Real Property Acquisition and Disposition Under Financial Assistance 
Abstract: Department of Transportation regulations address Federal real property acquisition and disposal. However, these regulations do not address specifics needed to consistently and efficiently manage real property actions under Service-administered financial assistance programs. We have consulted with other agencies and organizations, researched best methods, and sought comments before publishing preliminary guidance in our Service Manual. Following publication of the guidance in the manual chapters, we will move to publish this guidance as regulations. Regulations are needed to instruct grantees as well as Service personnel and to implement clarity, consistency, and credibility to real property actions under grants and cooperative agreements.
