Title: Endangered and Threatened Wildlife and Plants; Critical Habitat Designation for the Tucson Shovelnose Snake  
Abstract: Under the Endangered Species Act, as amended, the FWS is required to designate critical habitat, to the maximum extent prudent and determinable, concurrent with a listing determination for a species. FWS will make a listing determination for the Tucson shovelnose snake as a separate rulemaking action (RIN 1018-BA09). Accordingly, FWS will develop a critical habitat designation for the Tucson shovelnose snake, which inhabits the sandy desert soils in the valley floors of the upper Sonoran Desert in Arizona, if such a designation is determined to be prudent and determinable.
