| Title: Endangered and Threatened Wildlife and Plants; Critical Habitat Designation for the Yellow-Billed Loon | |
| Abstract: Under the Endangered Species Act, as amended, FWS will make a listing determination for the yellow-billed loon, as a separate rulemaking action (RIN 1018-BA11). The FWS is required to designate critical habitat, to the maximum extent prudent and determinable, concurrent with a listing determination. Accordingly, FWS will develop a critical habitat designation for the yellow-billed loon, a migratory bird that is specialized for aquatic foraging and is endemic to Alaska as well as to Canada, Russia, and Norway. | |
