Title: Endangered and Threatened Wildlife and Plants; Critical Habitat Designation for the Highlands Tiger Beetle
Abstract: FWS will, if determined prudent and determinable, designate critical habitat for the highlands tiger beetle under the Endangered Species Act, as amended. The FWS is required to designate critical habitat, to the maximum extent prudent and determinable, concurrent with a listing determination for the species. FWS will develop a listing determination for the highlands tiger beetle as a separate rulemaking action (RIN 1018-BA16). The highlands tiger beetle is a species endemic to the scrub and sandhill of ancient sand dunes in Lake Wales Ridge in Polk and Highlands Counties, Florida.
