| Title: Endangered and Threatened Wildlife and Plants; Adding Antiques Exceptions and Updating Pre-Endangered Species Act Exceptions | |
| Abstract: We propose to incorporate the Endangered Species Act's exemptions for commercial trade of antiques that are at least 100 years old into regulations that reaffirm the criteria that must be met for an item to qualify as an antique. In addition, we propose to update the current pre-Act provisions in 50 CFR 17.4 to make them consistent with the intent of the ESA. We also propose to address African Elephant Conservation Act prohibitions and moratoria in 50 CFR 14, and add any necessary ESA antique requirements to 50 CFR 14. | |
