| Title: Endangered and Threatened Wildlife and Plants; Critical Habitat Designation for the Black Warrior Waterdog | |
|
Abstract:
Pursuant to the Endangered Species Act, we are required to designate critical habitat, to the maximum extent prudent and determinable, concurrent with a listing determination for a species. We are developing a listing determination for the Black Warrior waterdog species, currently a candidate species, as a separate rulemaking action (RIN 1018-BA78). The Black Warrior waterdog is a salamander species that inhabits streams above the fall line (the contact between the coastal plain and the adjacent upland provinces) within the Black Warrior River Basin in Alabama, including parts of the North River, Locust Fork, Mulberry Fork, and Sipsey Fork drainages and their tributaries. |
