Title: ●Endangered and Threatened Wildlife and Plants; Critical Habitat Designation for the Green Sea Turtle
Abstract:

We will, if deemed prudent and determinable, make a determination to designate critical habitat for five distinct population segments (DPSs) of green sea turtle. The five DPSs are the North Atlantic, South Atlantic, Central North Pacific, Central South Pacific, and Central West Pacific. Pursuant to the Endangered Species Act, we are required to designate critical habitat, to the maximum extent prudent and determinable, concurrent with a listing determination for a species. We are developing a listing determination for the green sea turtle as a separate rulemaking action; the listing determination is a joint rulemaking with the National Marine Fisheries Service (under RIN 0648-XB089).
