View Rule

This proposed rule will update regulations that are co-managed by the FWS Office of Conservation Investment and National Wildlife Refuge System. The National Coastal Wetlands Conservation Grant Program regulations were last revised in 2002, and cost principles, ranking criteria, and grants administration have changed since then. Updating these regulations will reflect these changes and bring the program up to date. A deregulatory effort further updated this proposed rule to remove 15 sections of the current regulations that were redundant to other regulations or could be better managed through the notice of funding opportunity. The rulemaking will help FWS communicate important program changes to the public and solicit input on how best to address areas where FWS has discretion on statute implementation.
