Title: Incidental Take of Marine Mammals During Specified Activities; Kodiak and Seward, Alaska
Abstract:

The Marine Mammal Protection Act directs the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to issue regulations for up to 5 years to allow the incidental unintentional take of small numbers of marine mammals for specified activities (other than commercial fishing) in specific geographical areas provided certain findings are made. These regulations would authorize the incidental take of small numbers of northern sea otters (Enhydra lutris kenyoni) in Kodiak, Alaska, and Seward, Alaska, during pile-driving and marine construction activities for 5 years. The United States Coast Guard has requested these regulations.
