| Title: Canaveral National Seashore--Nudity | |
| Abstract: This rule would close all areas within Canaveral National Seashore to public nudity. The number of nudists and confrontations with non-nudists has increased significantly over the past 15 years. Public nudity is moving those user groups not wishing to be exposed to nudists from over 25 percent of the seashore. Attempts have been made to establish areas for nudists where contact with other visitors is minimal and have proven unsuccessful. Brevard County has passed an anti-nudity ordinance, putting the National Park Service in conflict with a county law. | |
