| Title: Procedures for Establishing That an Indian Group Exists as an Indian Tribe | |
| Abstract: This rule will add sunset provisions requiring all Indian groups to submit their documented petitions by a certain date, and requiring the Secretary to make final determinations on their acknowledgment as Federally recognized Indian tribes by a certain date. These sunset provisions will ensure timeliness and a finality to these status requests. | |
