| Title: Land Acquisitions in Alaska | |
|
Abstract:
This rule deletes a provision of the regulations governing acquisition of land into trust for Indian tribes and individuals. The provision being deleted prohibited the Secretary from taking land into trust in the State of Alaska. A recent court decision ruled that the Secretary is authorized to take land into trust in Alaska, and this rule will make trust acquisitions possible. |
