Title: ●Revising the Paroling Policy Guidelines To Equalize the Offense Severity Ratings for Crack Cocaine and Power Cocaine Offenses
Abstract: The Parole Commission is proposing a rule that would amend its paroling policy guidelines to equalize the offense severity ratings for crack cocaine and power cocaine offenses. The proposed rule would eliminate the present 10:1 ratio that exists in the severity ratings, i.e., distributing 10 grams of powder cocaine and distributing 1 gram of crack cocaine are rated in the same severity category.
