| Title: Implementation of the Combat Methamphetamine Epidemic Act of 2005; Notice of Transfers Following Importation or Exportation | |
| Abstract: This final rule would finalize the implementing regulations for the "spot market" provisions of the Combat Methamphetamine Epidemic Act of 2005 (Title VII of Pub. L. 109-177). Importers, exporters, and persons conducting international transactions of all List I and List II chemicals are now required to provide DEA with information on the person to whom they will transfer the listed chemicals and the amount to be transferred, and must provide a return declaration once the importation, exportation, or international transaction has occurred. | |

| Additional Information: Docket DEA-292 Subsequent to publication of the Interim Final Rule, DEA received written requests for a delay of the effective date of the rule. These comments indicated that industry would need additional time to fully comply with the provisions of the Interim Final Rule. After careful consideration of the concerns expressed by the regulated industry, DEA determined that a temporary stay (30 days) of certain provisions of the Interim Final Rule was necessary. | |
